UT U-TUBE COLLECTOR

This collector transfers heat to water via fluid-filled u-shaped copper tubes that run continuously throughout a set of evacuated tubes and a water tank. When the sun shines on the tubes, the fluid within the copper tubes warms. The copper acts as a heat exchanger and transfers heat to the water within the water tank as it cycles through.

FEATURES

The fluid-filled tubes in this system are coated with a selective solar film and are surrounded by polyurethane and glass vacuum tubes. This layer of glass and air serves as insulation to effectively reduce thermal losses to 5% and also to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Since all evacuated tubes operate independently from one another, an entire system will continue to work even if one tube suffers damage. Each tube is engineered to last at least 15 years.

This product is easily integrated into existing architecture and can be retrofitted with an existing water tank. The water storage unit on a collector need not be above the tubing and several sizes are available to suit practically any sun-facing location.
